I am directed by His Excellency the Governor to inform you that, a despatch has been received by the present Mail from the Right Honourable the Earl Grey confirming the abolition of the Office of Registrar of Deeds in the Land Department and authorising the payment of the Salary due to you from the date of your suspension (5th August 1847) to that of the abolition of the Office on the 30th of the following Month, and the arrears in question will be paid on your applying for the same at the Colonial Treasury.
